I have always been a keen photographer and set out below is a selection of my photos.
The combination of early morning Venice and mist was breathtaking and I was able to capture the eerie quality by using black and white film.

I adore otters! I have spent many happy days at the Otter Trust in Norfolk, one of the charities I support, taking photographs of these beautiful creatures. It is not as easy as it looks – unless they are asleep they are never still. This is a selection of my photos that I think shows the playful nature and grace of these beautiful animals.

At my house in Italy we perform what we call ‘the sunset ritual’. This involves a glass of sparkling wine and sitting down in loungers to watch the sun go down – as you can imagine, an exhausting exercise! Anyway, some days the sunset is disappointing with barely a flicker of colour, others it is a blaze of colour. I have been photographing sunsets for eight years and never get tired of doing so as each one is different. Here is a selection of my favourite sunset photos.

People think of sunflowers in relation to Italy but for me it is always poppies! At a certain time of the year, the mountainside has huge patches of what looks like red carpet from a distance. Hey ho, another opportunity for the camera. Here are some of my poppy collection.

There are so many photo opportunities here in Italy! Here are three other examples: a cat in a clearing, a misty morning and a storm building over the mountain with amazing cloud formations. Since I took this photo, metereologists have recognised this type of cloud as a new formation and given it the name Asperatus. I prefer my name for them – dippy clouds!
