Barnet Boy and I had a great morning at a Christmas Market in Chiusi in Tuscany, Italy. We came across some great Christmas displays involving classic wheels, a classic Fiat car and two classic motorcycles.
Christmas Classic Wheels
When you think of classic cars and motorcycles you think of speed, form and style. You wouldn’t automatically think of them as the main elements in a Christmas display.
Classic Motorcycles as Christmas Displays
Christmas Moto Guzzi
Moto Guzzi is a well known Italian motorcycle manufacturer.
Here someone has taken a classic Moto Guzzi, draped a garland on the handlebars and placed a box of stacked Christmas gifts on the rear of the bike. The red colour of the motorcycle really pops and adds to the Christmas feel of the display.
Christmas Lambretta
I mention Italian scooters several times in previous blog posts. Lo and behold at the Christmas market one features as part of the second classic wheels outside displays.
Again a beautiful, vibrant red, this is a classic Lambretta 48, decorated in much the same way as the Moto Guzzi. Very much invoking the spirit and colours of Christmas and very effective.
Classic Fiat Christmas
The final Christmas display from the market involves an old Fiat car. Fiat of course is the original Italian classic car.
The car has been parked with a Christmas wreath on the number plate. A red blanket has been placed on the car and a set of antique wooden skis rest against it. On the floor at the driver’s side of the car is a pile of wrapped Christmas gifts with a teddy bear on top. A larger pile of wrapped gifts has been placed on the roof.
Personally, I am less keen on the addition of the mannequin to the display as I don’t feel it was needed. It is still very effective though. I really enjoyed the Christmas Classic Wheels displays.
