Introducing my jazz and blues collection of images, available now from my various online galleries. I have talked before about my love of jazz and also Electro Swing. And I just happen to live in a part of Italy that is blessed with jazz and blues festivals!

Singer

Living in Umbria, Italy I am lucky to be able to take advantage of the live events staged as part of Umbria Jazz, Trasimeno Blues and Umbria Jazz Winter. Much as I enjoy the music at these events, I also love the energy which crackles around the stage and bounces off into the audience at these gigs.

Jazz And Blues Musicians

Saxophonist

I have created a series of images around the different types of musicians that play jazz and blues. All of them are created as a series so that they could be hung together. There is a saxophonist as shown here (also available without the black border which is there to provide an indication of how the image could be presented.  As well as a Saxophonist here is a Double Bass Player, a Percussionist, a Trumpet Player, a Singer and a Piano Player.

The six musician images are shown here in this collage. They are available as a collage or individually.

I have endeavored to develop the photographs all with the same style and dynamic feel so that they work well as a collection. My choice of colors is important as yellow is the color of happiness and creativity. That is certainly two of the attributes you will find at Jazz and Blues concerts!

At the Jazz Club

But no concert is complete without the audience! There is nothing quite like the inside of a jazz or blues club or late night concert. People can only be seen in broad outline and there is just the hint of candle light. In the old days of course the clubs would have a very smokey atmosphere, not the case these days. But open air performances can still elicit that slightly hazy glow around the candles.

Jazz Cacophany

I thought you might like a taste of our local festivities.  ‘Funk Off’ is a marching band that is very popular in these parts and usually feature in Umbria Jazz events, here shown doing their thing – enjoy!

  1. Ooh I love this! The yellows are so cool – like you said happiness is so important in jazz and the blues. My boyfriend’s a saxophonist so I’ll have to send this his way, haha! Thanks for sharing.

  1. The energy of jazz flies through the summer here in Umbria, with Umbria Jazz and Trasimeno Blues Festivals. To celebrate I am making two of my jazz images available on a limited time promotion.
