My Art in Room Settings

Displaying my art in room settings allows my customers to see how my artwork might look in their home. What do I mean by that?

My Art In Room Settings

Well, do you remember my blog post on what a difference a frame makes? In that post I explored how one image could look completely different according to the matting and framing applied to it. This is one of the advantages of buying art on-line. You can dry different matts and frames until you find something to your taste. Each frame shows off the piece in a different way. And, hopefully, gives the viewer an idea of how it might look in their home.

Imagining Art In A Room

Abstract Piece in a Living Room

Inserting an image into a photograph of a typical room gives an idea of how it might look in your home. This first image shows you my piece ‘Cloud Yoga’ and how it might look as a large print in a living room. Cloud Yoga is an abstract, spiritual piece and I like the way it sits in the white surroundings. You can imagine it in someone’s home as a feature piece on a wall.

Traditional Art

In another example, this time using a more traditional image ‘Ships at Holmen’ I show it as a canvas print. We see the art on the wall of a traditional living room with wooden furniture and a leather sofa.

Everyone is familiar with framed prints. But canvas and metal prints work really well on a wall. I have said before that my house has a mixture of canvas, framed and metal prints (plus the odd wall hanging). They each have their merits. But some, such as metal prints, are rather more expensive.

By the way, these free stock room photos were made available by the nice people at Preveal and I have permission to use them to display my art.

My Art in Room Settings Grouped Together

In this next image we see a plain dining area, with a group of three matching framed prints. These are all nautical images from my Copenhagen collection and all black and white. They look great grouped together. I think we tend to think about buying ‘a print’ singular. But sometimes you can get a great effect by grouping several together as here.

Incidentally if you click on any of these mock ups of my art in room settings you will be taken to my art website where you can see the sites I sell my work online.

Think Outside The Box

Split Prints Available

Following on from the idea of having a group of matching framed prints, what about a split canvas? That is to say, one image split into several individual canvases. If you have a large wall they are a wonderful way to show off a piece of art. Many of my images are available as split canvas prints at my Pictorem store (only in North America with free shipping). The landscape images work particularly well in this format. Available choices are a triptych (three canvases the same size). A cross triptych (the middle canvas is larger than the outer two). And a split canvas print as shown above.

Art As A Statement Piece

Finally, I just wanted to show how a piece of statement art can be used in the available space in a room. In this mock up, the only available wall space is one small wall area. It is effectively a divider that leads into the kitchen. By placing a bright, sunny piece on that wall (in this case my ‘Sunflower Breeze’) you add a warmth and interest to the space.

Would you like to see a mock up of your own room to see how a piece of my art might work in it? All you have to do is send me a reasonably sharp photograph of the room. It needs to clearly show the wall you are thinking of buying the piece for. I will then create a mock up for you to consider.
