Regular blog readers will know I am mad about cats. The last few days has been all about cats and I wanted to share the images I have created as a result.

All About Cats

In an earlier blog ‘A Cat Gets In The Shot‘ I talk about how a photographer can go to great lengths to line up for the perfect photo. Only for a cat to walk into the frame.

The last few days has been all about cats for me. This time, though, it has been deliberate as they have posed beautifully!

Like this little group that greeted me outside my front door this morning.

Italian Cats Have Attitude

I don’t know what it is about Italian cats. You expect a cat to have attitude but Italian cats have that little bit extra. Or so it seems. My Uncle has been visiting us from England I took him up to Panicale, a town near us, to have a look around.

The Black Cat And The Water Dispenser

Panicale is a beautiful, medieval, walled hill town and the views from there are spectacular. It also has lovely narrow streets and impressive architecture – a photographer’s dream in fact.

My uncle was focused on taking photographs of the view. I have taken many photos in Panicale and hadn’t even planned to take any. I had my camera with me just in case of course!

Up at the church at the high end of town I watched a black cat wandering around the square. There is an old, ornate water dispenser there and I wondered if he would go near it. Well, he did better than that. He went and had a drink from it and I got a great shot that turned into one of my current favourite images.

Interrupting Cat Yoga

As we walked back down through the narrow passage ways we came across another church with an incredible interior (images will follow in another blog).

It was a beautiful warm day with bright sunshine that really made you blink as you came out of the church.

We walked down towards the main bar to get a coffee and I glanced down a narrow passageway. There, in the sunshine in front of a stone wall was a beautiful cat. Who was engaged in some sort of cat yoga, with legs stretched in all sorts of directions.

I called out and the cat looked at me. I got a photo that made me giggle as the cat was sitting with its’ legs stretched out looking quite comical.

Sisters In Black And White

While I was working on the new cat images I found one I had never finished of Emmy, Stevie Mouse and Lucy all together. The three are grouped around a radiator with Emmy sitting on the window ledge. Stevie Mouse is sprawled across the radiator. Lucy is snuggled in the hammock that is suspended from the radiator.

It is not often we see the three of them together so this was a real treat! It was fun to create the look of this image too and present it in black and white.
