An Abstracted Celebration Of Spring Flowers

Violets Abstraction

An abstracted celebration of spring flowers looks at a small collection of floral abstraction images I have created.

An Abstracted Celebration Of Spring Flowers

The aim of this small series is to depict the feeling of excitement that we feel when the first spring flowers appear. After a long winter, the heart jumps at the sight of the first flowers. They may be daisies and other wildflowers that lead the way, with early spring flowers hot on their heels.

Anemone Abstraction

Anemone Abstraction

An abstracted image of a blue anemone with a yellow center features in this piece I have called Anemone Abstraction. I added a texture with bright colors celebrating the arrival of spring and the hint of summer to come. I planted just a few of these bulbs at the front of a flower border. But now they make a glorious carpet of blue that contrasts beautiful with the yellow daffodils in my garden.

Crocus Abstraction

Crocus Abstraction

The excitement of spring is expressed in this image, a small group of white crocus with a yellow center to each bloom, nestles in a patch of spring grass. I have added a brightly colored texture. These were hidden away among the grass. I stumbled on them quite by chance but aren’t they pretty?

Dandelion Abstraction

One of the joys of dandelions is that having enjoyed the bright yellow flower they produce a fabulous seed head. This one sits on a patch of wasteland but I have celebrated it by adding a texture of bright colors. Hands up those of you who are grown up and still blow the seed heads? (My hand is in the air).

Daffodil Abstraction

Daffodil Abstraction

A single yellow daffodil sits proudly among the grass. A celebration of spring with a hint of the summer to come, this piece, Daffodil Abstraction, celebrates the bright joy of this spectacular flower with the addition of a texture of bright colors. Daffodils are such giants of the spring flower garden don’t you think? That gorgeous color echoing the brightness of the sunshine.

Violets Abstraction

Violets Abstraction

Spring in Italy and the ground is a mass of violets. This image, Violets Abstraction, is a celebration of these tiny plants and the joy they bring to the landscape. These are my favorite wild flowers as they have a slight perfume. They are tiny flowers and get trodden on by all the wildlife but they make a gorgeous carpet of color in the grass on our land.
