As a Buddhist I am very familiar with the energy of OM – the shortest and most powerful mantra. I have talked about my use of mantras before. A mantra is a word, sound or phrase used repeatedly to help with concentration in meditation. I have produced three new pieces of art infused with the energy of Om.
What is the energy of ‘Om’?
A quick review for those not familiar with the mantra.
Om is a sacred sound and spiritual symbol in Hinduism. It appears at the beginning and end of most Sanskrit recitations, prayers, and texts. It is also used in Buddhism, Jainism and sometimes during meditative and spiritual activities such as Yoga. You can read a lot more about the subject on Wikipedia!
You may have seen the symbol on jewelry, Buddhist or Hindu images or even as a tattoo! Take a look a the symbol in my image ‘Buddhist Om’ – does it look familiar to you?
Probably the best known Buddhist mantra that uses OM is Om mani padme hum which is the mantra of Avalokiteshvara who represents the compassion of all the Buddhas.
Om (pronounced three letters AUM) represents the whole universe, the combination of mind, body and spirit.

Still with me? Sit quietly for five minutes and listen to six voices singing Om in harmony and perhaps you will feel something of the beauty of the mantra.
Art Infused With The Energy of Om
As well as the image above ‘Buddhist Om’ which depicts the symbol for Om superimposed on the brow and third eye of a bejeweled statue of Buddha, there are two other new pieces.
Om Rays
‘Om Rays’ show the Om symbol with the rays of universal energy pouring down upon it and a myriad of colors and shapes, much as you might see during meditation.
It is shown here on a wall hanging but if you click on the image you will see it on a number of products, both home decor and personal items. The symbol means the art is infused with the energy of Om.
Om Waves
This piece ‘Om Waves’ also shows the Om symbol but with this one I have depicted waves, like the energy waves that emanate from the energy of mantra.
It is shown here on throw pillows in a child’s room but again if you click on the image you will see it on a number of products. All beautiful items that will bring a little piece of peace and tranquility into your home. Not to mention that they will make the perfect gift.
