Wondering how to add art to your outdoor space? At my storefront on the Dutch art site WerkAanDeMuur you can buy outdoor canvases. What a great idea to have art on the wall in your garden or outdoor space!

How To Add Art To Your Outdoor Space

Blending In With Garden Planting

Abstract art is a nice choice for outdoor spaces as it will blend readily into the shapes of the garden planting. Here is an example featuring one of my popular abstract paintings called ‘Effervescence‘, that adds a bit of movement but also a coolness to this, comfortable looking, sheltered, outdoor seating area.

A sheltered outdoor area with burgundy and brown seating, coffee table and plant, has a large abstract painting in shades of blue, green, white and gold.

Of course, if you want to make an area feel a bit more lively you can add something a bit warmer. For example, the following abstract outdoor canvas shown in the same outside seating area features my work ‘Pop Culture’. This retains the idea of blending in with the surroundings but also adds colours that promote a more energetic vibe.

Art Accents In Conservatories

Another example shown below is a suggestion of how you can add an art accent to a conservatory. In this case by adding a striking blue and yellow photo art piece featuring the Cubist Villa Jardin Majorelle in Marrakesh.

A striking blue building with yellow highlights and a bank of cacti features on an art print hanging on the wall in a conservatory.

Of course, you may wish to hang a scene from a recent holiday, such as to Umbria in Italy, for example. Or a floral work. Or perhaps you are a crazy cat person like me and would like nothing more than a portrait of a cat smiling down at you in the garden. You can find choices for all of these, and more, at my shop on WerkAanDeMuur.

How The Canvases Are Made

The garden posters on canvas are specially made for the garden, but of course while maintaining high quality standards. The artworks are printed on very high quality white canvas. The canvas is stretched over a wooden frame. The wood is specially treated so that it can withstand rain and moisture. The canvas then gets a different coating that better protects the work and special stainless staples are used to prevent rust stains.
